9 Rainy Season Activities that you'll Surely Love

It’s the month of June and we’ve just entered the rainy season. Are you done with your summer activities like going to Boracay or spending your short vacation with your relative? If you still have some of the Summer hangover blues, let me give you some family activities and relaxing ideas.

Learn Cooking – Parents should teach their children how to cook in as early as 7 years old. They could use the things that they’ve learned  in application of several situations like if they are hungry or would like to eat a snack but everyone is away for a short while.

Hide and Seek – This game is my most favorite when I was still a child. During rainy days, I will ask my cousins to play hide and seek with me. The rules go something like the “it” person will have to find his playmates with his eyes blindfolded. The playmates will have to make a noise every 30 seconds so that the “it” person could have an idea on where he could find the other players. The “it” person will be changed as soon as he touches one of the hiders.

Indoor Sports – like billiards, dart and table tennis.

Learn Magic Tricks – rainy season is the perfect time to learn magic tricks. There are lots of available e-books on the internet but I found this one very useful and complete.

Lego – A good  game where you and your family can develop your logic and designing skills.

Board Games – chess, snake and ladders, scrabble, millionaires.

Scavenger Hunt – Create a puzzle in your scavenger hunt and make creative rules and directions to the hunters. I’m sure this game will give everybody a bunch laughs and a right push of adrenalin. This game would develop analytic abilities and leadership skills.

Movie Date – A movie date with your family is a good idea but let’s give it a different twist. How about you’ll have question and answer portion after watching the movie? Sounds great, doesn’t it? I think it is much better if you consider adding a prize.

Teach your children some basic stuffs – sewing, washing clothes, changing bulbs.
